Mike is an experienced public relations consultant and brings to MD Communications more than 20 years’ experience both as a PR adviser and journalist.

The bulk of Mike’s press career has been in hard news – mainly in legal affairs, City and corporate reporting, and as a hard-hitting investigative reporter on stories involving major financial fraud, secret intelligence, politics, and the global arms trade.

He was City editor of The Lawyer for six years, editor of EuroBusiness magazine, a news producer for BBC World TV and has written for newspapers including The Telegraph, The Guardian, Financial Mail on Sunday, The Express and Sunday Mirror.

He moved into PR in 2000 as head of communications for an award-winning corporate innovation consultancy to FTSE100 companies. He joined PR group Bell Pottinger as an associate director in 2006, where his clients included high-profile law firms, and various consultancies specialising in mobile telecoms, hedge funds and financial services.

Since 2009 he has worked with a European business awards programme, a business film maker, a record label, a US-based philanthropic investment consultancy, and a PR firm specialising in medical negligence and ‘high-street’ law firms.

He recently edited a global online industrial news website for two years and was an investigative reporter for online news service Exaro for a year.
